Identity

As a graphic designer (and expat), I'm fascinated by how people associate positive feelings and shape their identities with brands, products, toys and foods, especially ones from the past. I love seeing the twinkle in someone’s eye when I ask them what they miss from their childhood home. I’m keeping a list and create miniature gouache paintings (4x4cm) of the answers. Intended as a tiny, mindful treat, a sort of visual madeleine de proust to be viewed through a magnifying glass or displayed in a group collection. They don't taste as good or take up as much space as the real item would, but hopefully it will spark the same joy and connection to yourself every time you see it.
